I am passionate about wellness and helping patients live their best lives. I believe that we should prevent chronic disease by following healthy habits and lifestyles and that if chronic disease does occur, with proper counseling and coaching, many (not all) chronic diseases can be reversed. Healthcare should be a partnership between the patient and their provider, each bring a responsibility to the relationship. I make a point to listen to my patients first and then guide and coach them on their wellness journey.

Five Points Medical Center is owned by Tara Gunter, ANP-BC. In 2004 Tara completed her MSN with a concentration in Nursing Education from UNC- Greensboro. She obtained a Post-Master’s Certificate in Adult-Gerontological Nurse Practitioner in 2009 from UNC-Greensboro. She is Board Certified by the American Nurse Credentialing Center as an Adult Nurse Practitioner. Tara is a lifelong resident of Randolph County where she resides with her husband Randy and son Hayden. Her daughter Olivia is a RN with Duke Health System and lives with her husband Steven in Chapel Hill.
